Advent

[caption id="attachment_884" align="alignnone" width="172" caption="Photo by Chrissy Oldham"][/caption] We are in the time of expectant waiting, for the Christian church.  Yesterday was the first Sunday of Advent.  It is a time of preparation as we wait to celebrate the birth of the Messiah. I love the advent season.  Probably it is the purple candles.  It is a dark time of year with the winter solstice at hand.  But the light of the world is on the way. "Father God, we are grateful for the rich and wonderful blessings in all our lives.  We are grateful you sent your son to save the world.  Let us prepare to celebrate with generosity toward our fellow man.  Help us keep love and joy in our hearts this season and be a blessing to everyone we know and see.  Thank you for sending the light to the world.  Amen"

This time is for me a time to honor that we are all a child of God, as is Jesus. The fact that Jesus message is still alive and well in me is the best way I can honor his gift. Love Wilma

I remember vividly Advent as a child and the waiting always felt like such a good thing.

Hi Tess, you are on such a roll lately with your writing. Keep it up, girl. I also love the anticipation of the season. For me it is the candles, the Christmas lights, and time with family. (And good quality chocolate.)
